Our alumni chapter is finally having its Fundraising Golf Tournament on May 4, 2008 (Sunday) at the Boundary Oaks Golf Course in Walnut Creek! The tournament is being organized under the leadership of Daisy Rodriguez with the assistance of past president Ceny Duldulao and current president Alexis Zulueta. As per our previous fundraisers, the tournament aims to raise funds for the chapter’s second University of the Philippines Professorial Chair. Tee off time is scheduled at 11AM at the beautiful Boundary Oaks Golf Course, which was recently named Best Public Golf Course in the East Bay by Diablo Magazine. Awarding ceremonies will be held at Goldilock’s Restaurant at 1050 Contra Costa Blvd. in Concord immediately after the tournament. Non-golfers are likewise invited to the awards dinner ceremony for a cost of $20 per person. Tournament fee is $120 and that includes green fee, cart, bag lunch and awards dinner.
Daisy is asking chapter members to invite sponsors for the tournament. Benefactors can come in with as little as $100 to sponsor a hole. These sponsorships normally constitute the bulk of the funds raised during golf tournaments so Daisy will surely appreciate the assistance of chapter members in this regard.
